    MONTREAL, Wis. — Margaret H. Gulan, 89, of Montreal, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 24, 2014, in her home. The former Margaret Tarro was born May 6, 1925, in Montreal, daughter of the late Battista and Maria (Picholdi) Tarro, attended grade school there, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Hurley in 1943. She worked in Detroit and Milwaukee during World War II, and was employed as a bookkeeper/cashier for the Lake Superior District Power Co. in Ironwood, Mich., from 1947 until her retirement in 1988.     HURLEY, Wis. - Signe E. Saari, 91, of Southland Avenue in Ironwood, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, in Hurley. She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Kimball, Wis., daughter of the late Anton and Maria (Mattila) Maki. She was an Ironwood area resident most of her life. During her lifetime, Signe was employed at the Mellen Lumber Mill, Powderhorn Ski Lodge, and Lac du Flambeau School as a cook. Signe was very family oriented and a very strong lady.
