Ironwood - From Cloverland Drive to its new location downtown, Golden Dragon continues to serve the Ironwood area Chinese cuisine.

Owner Anny Lin has worked in Chinese restaurants for a long time. When she opened her own restaurant at the former Hong Kong Buffet, on Cloverland Drive, Lin said she wanted to serve quality, authentic Chinese food.

"My food is always fresh," she said. "I would rather pay money for fresh food."

Recently, Lin said her lease for the Cloverland Drive location expired and it was time to relocate. Looking at available locations, Lin said she wanted a larger parking lot and liked the idea of being downtown.

Now open for business, Lin moved the Golden Dragon to the former Tacconelli's Down Towne, on South Suffolk Street.

"It's a really nice building in a good location," she said. "(It has) a big parking lot. I don't have to do much with it. Everything is set to go."

Lin said she brought her recipes with her and will continue to serve only fresh ingredients and quality food.

All the traditional Chinese favorites are still on the restaurant's large menu. In addition, Lin said the Golden Dragon now serves new appetizers and several family-sized dinner options.

Customers can also eat from the soup and salad bar or enjoy the buffet. To keep with local traditions, Lin said the restaurant is also serving a fish fry on Friday.

Lin said she wanted customers to feel embraced in Chinese culture while dining. There is a Chinese hand fan behind the buffet, art work on the walls and a China cabinet next to the bar.

Since she opened her new location, Lin said the local community has given her positive reviews.

"Everybody says they like the food and are happy about the new location," she said. "They are happy."

In the future, Lin said she wants to open the bar and use the conference room.
