Hurley - Republican Donald Trump lost nine votes and Democrat Hillary Clinton gained two in Thursday's recount of Presidential votes in Iron County.

The county board of canvass certified a vote total of 2,081 for Trump and 1,275 for Clinton, or an 11-vote swing from election night totals.

The recount wrapped up at 3:34 p.m. in the county courthouse at Hurley, as the town of Sherman was the last municipality to be counted.

Iron County may have been one of the earliest in the state to complete the recount of votes for President.

Gary Johnson placed third with 72 votes.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who paid $3.5 million for the recount, totaled 34 votes.

A total of 3,499 people voted for President.

Statewide Trump, who was elected President, won the Nov. 8 election by more than 17,700 votes, pending the recount.

Under federal law, the Wisconsin recount in the 72 counties must be completed by Dec. 13.

It was the third time votes were counted in Iron County, as Matt Tingstad's win over Tony Stella, of Kimball, for District Attorney held up in a previous recount.

Tingstad, of Bessemer, won by five votes, 1,707 to 1,702. He was 13 votes ahead on election night.
