IRONWOOD - The Pro Vintage Snowmobile Races scheduled for Saturday at the Gogebic County Fairgrounds were canceled due to inclement weather. RAMSAY — A snowmobiler was killed crossing U.S. 2 Saturday afternoon, making it the county’s second snowmobile death in 26 hours. The man — whose name is being withheld pending the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department’s notification of the family — was identified as a 52-year-old Wisconsin resident. BESSEMER, Mich. - Joseph John Tiradani, 99, a long-time resident of Bessemer, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, Dec. 29, 2017. Joe was born on Nov. 6, 1918, in Ironwood, a son of Demetrio and Lena (Beauchamp) Tiradani. During his early teenage years, the family moved to Pennsylvania. WHITE PINE, Mich. — Karen Sue Howard, 73, of White Pine, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at her home in White Pine. She was born in Ontonagon on Dec. 1, 1944, to William Picotte and Ellen (Carlson) Steed. She was a graduate of White Pine High School with the class of 1963.
