IRONWOOD - Those attending the 2015 Ironwood Snowmobile Olympus races at the Gogebic County Fairgrounds this weekend are likely to see something unique in snowmobile racing. HURLEY, Wis. - Ernest N. "Ernie" Kent, 91, of Lake Avenue, Ironwood, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, in Hurley. He was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Ironwood, son of the late Ernest H. and Sarah E. Kent. ROCHESTER, Minn. — Jeffry Donald Koosmann, 53, of Mellen, Wis., passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, due to complications from his recent stem cell transplant. Jeff was born May 23, 1961, in Fort Riley, Kan., the son of Donald W. and Annette L. (Mattson) Koosmann. On June 24, 2006, he was united in marriage to Sheryl L. Hamilton in Mellen. HURLEY, Wis. — Marvin D. Babic, 79, of Mercer, passed away on Dec. 31, 2014, at the Skyview Nursing Home in Hurley. He was born in Mercer on April 11, 1935, to Mike and Narrie Babic.
