Sweet little Makenna Rae was not scheduled to arrive until Jan. 4, but she decided to arrive two days early at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.     By RALPH ANSAMI [email protected] PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Herb Levin, the former Daily Globe publisher and vice-president who often greeted employees with, “Top of the morning to you,” has died. Levin was living in Port Charlotte when he died on Dec. 21. Memorial services will be held in March at the National Cemetery in Sarasota, with full military honors. A native of Sault Ste.     HURLEY, Wis. - Joan Annette Laurila, 89, of Hurley and former longtime resident of Ontonagon, Mich., passed away on Jan. 3, 2018, at the Villa Maria in Hurley following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.     BARNES, Wis. — Bernard J. DeRubeis, of Palm Desert, Calif., and Barnes, (formally of Duluth, Minn.), died on Jan. 3, 2018, at age 81. Bernard was born on Sept. 18, 1936, to Zerda and Dorothy DeRubeis in Ironwood, Mich. Bernard graduated from Hurley, Wis., High School in 1954.
