    IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - The Gogebic-Iron County Airport Board is in a wait-and-see mode regarding the future of air service for Ironwood. Great Lakes Airlines announced Monday it is suspending service at Ironwood and five other airports effective Feb. 1, citing a lack of pilots. The airport board is now awaiting opening of bids to provide essential air service at the airport that are due by Feb. 5.     ROMULUS (AP) - Temperatures dropped to dangerous, record-breaking lows in Michigan on Tuesday, leading to the closure of hundreds of schools. The morning low of 9 degrees below zero at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus broke the previous record low for Jan. 28 of 8 below set in 1977, the National Weather Service said.     IRONWOOD, Mich. — Donald C. Anderson, 64, of 301 W. Larch St., Ironwood, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in Ironwood. He was born May 3, 1949, in Hurley, Wis., son of the late Kenneth and Oddny (Hagen) Anderson. Donald attended Ironwood schools, graduating from the Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1967. In 1972, he was united in marriage with Renee Lawver in Ironwood.
