    SILVER CITY - More details have been released concerning the dramatic Monday afternoon rescue of two snowmobilers in blizzard conditions near the Porcupine Mountains. Michigan State Police earlier noted Benjamin M. Jenney, 40, and Benjamin M. Jenney Jr., 19, a father and son from Albertville, Minn., were found about two miles from the nearest road.   • Winter snowshoe blast planned on Gile Flowage

    GILE, Wis. - The Hurley Fourth of July Fireworks Committee will host the first Snowshoe Extravaganza on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. on the Gile Flowage. According to committee member Mike Fontecchio, interested participants can register until 2 p.m. the day of the event. The idea for the event came because winter is so long, Fontecchio said.     MILLINGTON, Mich. - Wilma H. (Bronner) List, 87, a longtime resident of Bergland, was redeemed early Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, 2014, at her residence in downstate Millington. Wilma was born on Sept. 25, 1926, and was the daughter of John and Lilly (O'Brien) Bronner. In 1947, Wilma married Wilbur List. Before Wilbur's passing in September of 1978, Wilbur and Wilma celebrated 31 years of marriage.
