ERWIN TOWNSHIP - Descendants of the original Van Buskirk school children gathered on a chilly, but sunny Sunday to recreate an old photo and share some laughs. IRONWOOD --- The Samsons hope they haven't seen the last of the Lindquist Center this season. Gogebic Community College defeated Fox Valley Tech 77-65 Saturday afternoon. WAKEFIELD - Sharp winds and below-zero temperatures didn't deter the crowds at the sixth annual Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department Ice Fishing Contest. 562 people registered for the event, which while down from last year's attendance of 700 to 800 people, was quite good considering the weather. BESSEMER, Mich. - Peter L. Samarziya, 91, of Bessemer, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2015. Pete was born on Sept. 16, 1923, in Bessemer, a son of Marko and Julia (Tirpik) Samarziya.
