    HURLEY — Second and third grade students in Kristin Kolesar’s class at the Hurley K-12 School are now authors, penning a book on the history of the Titanic. On Wednesday, students read and signed copies of the book, “Journeys on the Titanic,” for parents and grandparents at the school to celebrate it being published.     VATICAN CITY — The world has a new pope, and the effects are being felt all the way from the Vatican to the Gogebic Range. The general emotion felt by local priests is excitement at the announcement of Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio being elected pope Wednesday afternoon.     BESSEMER — Three re-appointments to the Community Mental Health Authority Board and a new appointment were approved by the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday. The previous terms expired March 31. Reappointed were Margaret Rayner, Robert Lynn and Ken Wegmeyer, all of the Ironwood area.     DULUTH, Minn. — Richard L. Drahn, 74, of Bessemer, Mich., passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 19, 1938, in Oshkosh, Wis., the son of Oliver William and Genevra Crane (Lloyd) Drahn.
