    WAKEFIELD - After a month of collecting donations for its first ever food drive, the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post delivered more than 1,500 pounds to St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry in Bessemer Thursday. Throughout April, troopers collected donations throughout the community to help the pantry. According to Lt.     BESSEMER - City officials officially ended the water let-run for Bessemer residents on Wednesday. The order has been in effect since January, with about 450 people told to keep their water running. The city provides water services for around 1,100 customers.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Donald E. "Chicky" Barrette, 86, of Wakefield, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 30, 2014, following a brief stay at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield. Don was born on Oct. 17, 1927, in Lake Linden, the 10th child of Ulrich and Mary (Denomie) Barrette. He grew up in Lake Linden and attended the local high school, graduating in 1946.
