    IRONWOOD - Gogebic Community College President James Lorenson was recently named to the Michigan Community College Association Legislative Committee to a two-year position. There are 12 members on the committee, which includes six presidents and six trustees. According to the release, "Committee membership, per MCCA bylaws, is determined by the appointment of the chair of MCAA, with concurrence of the MCCA Executive Committee."     To the Editor: I felt compelled to offer the other side of the story when it comes to customer service. I have worked customer service for 25 years at the same company and I have seen a huge decline in the way customers treat workers in the public sector. It seems that every other person has a cell phone glued to their ear. I make a habit of greeting each customer, ask if they need a bag for their purchases, thank them, and tell them to have a nice day.     WINDSOR, Colo. - Kenneth G. (Ken) McCauley passed away on Feb. 6, 2015, in Windsor, after a protracted battle with pancreatic cancer. He leaves behind his two children, Heather McCauley and Kenneth H. McCauley, and his granddaughter, Brooklyn McCauley. Ken was born on Aug. 23, 1952, in Huntington, W.V., to Leonard and Zelma McCauley. He grew up in a large family with three sisters and two brothers. Holst, 90, of Manitowish Waters, Wis., and a native of Ironwood, Mich., passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, with his loving family by his side.     REDDING, Calif. — Jean McKenzie passed away peacefully at Sierra Oaks Senior Living on Feb. 10, 2015. Jean was born in Escanaba, Mich., to Dan and Delma Gunderman, and moved as an infant to Marenisco, Mich., where she became a lifelong resident until moving to Redding in 1996.
