    WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Herbert T. Pikka, 89, a long-time resident of Wakefield, passed away late Sunday evening, Dec. 11, 2016. Herb was born on Aug. 7, 1927, in Wakefield, a son of Tauno and Julia (Sampson) Pikka. He attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1945. On June 25, 1949, Herb was united in marriage to Betty Irene Stonelake at the Gospel Tabernacle Apostolic Lutheran Church in Waukegan, Ill.     CENTENNIAL, Colo. - Dominic L. DeMarte passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2016. Dom was born in Bessemer, Mich., on Oct. 10, 1931, to Domenick and Margaret DeMarte. They were first generation Italians. His father worked long, difficult hours in the iron ore mines until an accident left him unable to return. He passed this strong work ethic onto his four children, Mary Ann, Domenic, Charles and Michael.     HURLEY — A Feb. 28 jury trial has been scheduled for a 47-year-old Ironwood woman who was previously bound over for trial in Iron County Court on 26 counts of identity theft. Wendy Wuorinen is alleged to have withdrawn around $7,613 from the Iron County Community Credit Union in Kimball from a customer’s account while she was employed there without authorization from November 2014 to December 2015.
