HURLEY - After two failed motions to postpone action, the Iron County Board of Supervisors voted 8-7 to approve the proposed amendments to mining company Gogebic Taconite's lease option for its proposed mine site near Upson. IRONWOOD - The Gogebic Community College Board of Trustees met on Tuesday night to a approve Copper Country Campus expansion plans. Chairman John Lupino said the board had quite a bit of discussion on the expansion plans prior to the board meeting. He is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Ron Belmas, of Ramsey; daughter, Brenda (Randy) Zoglman, of Bessemer; grandchildren, Allen Barto, Brad (Kim Leinon) Belmas, Mark (Tony Sundberg) Belmas, Nikki (Tim) Lynott, Casey (Brent) Boersma, Jeff (Erinn) Corullo; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Langrehr. HAYWARD, Wis. — Rose M. Longhini, 94, of Ironwood, Mich., passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Hayward. Rose Marie Longhini was born March 11, 1920, in Hurley, the daughter of Gabriel and Rosaria (Lerza) Stella. On July 10, 1946, Rose was united in marriage to John S. Longhini at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley. She is survived by her sons John A. (Marilyn) Longhini, of Canyon Country, Calif., and Robert G.
