    IRON BELT, Wis. - Angelo Luppino, 82, passed away on June 3, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer. Angelo was born in Hurley on March 27, 1933, to Sam and Mary Luppino, and had a brother, Nathan, all of whom preceded Angelo in death. He married Nancy Nelson on March 14, 1953.   • Ironwood budget shows minor increase in taxes

    IRONWOOD — The 2015-’16 budget the Ironwood City Commission will consider Monday includes a small increase in city property taxes. According to the proposed budget resolution, property taxes of $1,777,000 are projected, compared to the $1,675,000 approved a year ago, or less than a 1 percent increase. The city’s fiscal year runs through June. The total general fund budget to be considered Monday by city commissioners is $3,168,000, up $41,000 from a year ago.   • Angelo Luppino leaves mark on community

    IRON BELT, Wis. - The man who brought the color pink to his Iron Belt construction business, Angelo Luppino, died this week of cancer at 82. He was born and raised in Hurley, graduating from the Hurley High School in 1952. He married Nancy Nelson in 1953 and they had two children, a son, Paul, and a daughter, Karen. Luppino met his wife on a blind date and knew from the moment he met her that she was the one. "He met me and that was it," she said. They had a long and happy marriage of 62 years.... Full story
