That hiatus was to have ended Sunday as the Lake freighter Michipicoten was scheduled to pull into the harbor and unload 16,500 tons of road construction materials. Over the past nine years, the state of Michigan has spent money on studies to revitalize the harbor.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Frances Ann "Fran" Bogdan, 93, of Bessemer, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in Wakefield. Fran was born April 10, 1924, in Puritan Location, Bessemer Township, the daughter of Victorio and Mary (Negri) Moro. Fran attended Puritan School and A.D. Johnston High School, graduating with the Class of 1942. On Nov. 7, 1942 she married Robert A. Bentzen in Bessemer. He preceded her in death in 1990.     IRONWOOD - Jack W. Scuffham, 100, of Ironwood and formerly of Stambaugh, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in Ironwood. Jack was born May 10, 1916, in Gaastra, the son of the late Kyme and Alice (Cummings) Scuffham. Jack graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1934.
