ONTONAGON, Mich. — Lawrence A. Hamm, 101, of Ontonagon, died early Thursday June 9, 2016, at home. He was born on Sept. 5, 1914, to Elmer and Louise Hamm. He worked as a logger and spent 30 years as a member of the Operator Engineers Union. He married Delilah Pearl Picotte in 1934. WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Jack Duane Franklin, 73, a long-time resident of Wakefield, passed away Thursday morning, June 9, 2016. Jack was born on Oct. 4, 1942, in Manistee, the son of Frank Floyd and Eileen Edessa (Pierson) Franklin. He attended Manistee High School and graduated in 1960. IRONWOOD — The summer semester began Monday at Gogebic Community Community College. Jean Graham, GCC Dean of students, said enrollment numbers are similar to last year’s summer semester. She said 10 more students signed up for classes this year, with around 210 students enrolled.
