    HURLEY - Little Finland held its midsummer festival on Saturday and celebrated with a little dancing, some food and a bonfire at its cultural center and gift shop near Hurley.     SAXON, Wis. - Intermittent fog didn't keep the trolling boats off Lake Superior for the weekend's Saxon Harbor Boating Club's annual fishing derby. The derby was delayed about a month because of floating ice on Lake Superior that lingered up until about two weeks ago, causing the annual spring tourney to become a summer contest.     Two of Big Snow Country’s ski hills plan to merge. Blackjack LLC, owner of Blackjack Mountain Resort, near Bessemer, has executed an agreement to acquire the assets of the “Grand Daddy” of Gogebic Range ski hills, Indianhead Mountain, near Wakefield.     MERCER, Wis. - The Mercer Education Foundation held a Taste of the Northwoods event at the Mercer Community Center Saturday afternoon. "It's an opportunity for the community to experience the great culinary professionals around here," said foundation trustee Jama Boes.     ST. IGNACE - Doug Ingalls learned how to play point guard during an all-state basketball career at Gladstone High School. He honed his craft during a four-year stint at Northern Michigan University.
