    IRONWOOD, Mich. — Greta Jean Lindberg, 56, of Ironwood, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 19, 2016, in her home. Greta was born June 30, 1959, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Jack and Elaine (Eliason) Lindberg, attended Central Grade School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1978. She worked at Ironwood Plastics for several years, then became a certified nurse’s aide and worked at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood for many years.   • Health Department interns work on well-testing study

    HURLEY - The Iron County Health Department has three summer interns this year, who are working on testing the area wells as part of an effort to study the county's groundwater. Mariano Maniscalco, a biochemistry major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a certificate in global health; Kristina Femla, who recently graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a degree in hydrogeology; and Pang Vue, an environmental health major at UW-Oshkosh started their summer internships earlier in June....

    HURLEY — Deputy Treasurer Clara Maki was appointed as the new Iron County treasurer during an approximately 30 minute meeting of the Iron County Board of Supervisors Tuesday. Maki thanked the board for its support. “I’d like to thank you all for your support and your confidence in me. I appreciate it, thank you,” Maki said. She said she was appointing Debra Massoglia, of Saxon — formerly with the Iron County Credit Union — as her deputy. Massoglia started her job Thursday.
