IRONWOOD, Mich. — Greta Jean Lindberg, 56, of Ironwood, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 19, 2016, in her home. Greta was born June 30, 1959, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Jack and Elaine (Eliason) Lindberg, attended Central Grade School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1978. HURLEY - The Iron County Health Department has three summer interns this year, who are working on testing the area wells as part of an effort to study the county's groundwater. HURLEY — Deputy Treasurer Clara Maki was appointed as the new Iron County treasurer during an approximately 30 minute meeting of the Iron County Board of Supervisors Tuesday. Maki thanked the board for its support. “I’d like to thank you all for your support and your confidence in me. I appreciate it, thank you,” Maki said. She said she was appointing Debra Massoglia, of Saxon — formerly with the Iron County Credit Union — as her deputy. Massoglia started her job Thursday.
