  • Work group to review indigent services issues

    By RALPH ANSAMI [email protected] BESSEMER — A work group designed to evaluate how legal services are rendered to indigent criminal defendants is being set up by Gogebic-Ontonagon Counties Circuit Court Judge Michael Pope. The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has approved indigent defense standards. Michigan counties are required to submit plans to the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission by Nov. 20.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - Roy T. Minkin, 67, of Ironwood, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in Ironwood. He was born Sep. 7, 1949, in Ironwood son of the late Lloyd and Ruth (Kilponen) Minkin. Roy attended the A.L. Norrie Grade School and graduated from the Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1967. He attended Gogebic Community College where he received an associate degree.
