    More than $150,000 was wagered on 50-50 raffles over the Fourth of July holiday regionally. Michael Tregembo of Ironwood won the Bessemer 50-50 and claimed his prize Thursday. His ticket 66187 won $34,681. Wakefield's 50-50 prize is an even $24,200 and as yet unclaimed. The winning ticket is 41346. Hurley's Fireworks Committee held its drawing Thursday morning, drawing ticket 2703. The Bank Club won the prize of $4,808.     BESSEMER - The Bessemer Downtown Development Authority held a special meeting Thursday to discuss the possible purchase of the old Gambles store at 221 S. Sophie St. The building houses Trout Lily Art & Design and is going up on auction for at least $8,700 in August, the amount owed in back taxes.     ONTONAGON — Arrangements have been finalized for the funeral of Navy Fireman Second Class Lowell Earl Valley, from Ontonagon, killed during an attack on the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, July 14, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Full military honors will be performed by the U.S. Navy.     MARENISCO, Mich. — Earl “Bud” Charles, 79, a long-time resident of Marenisco, passed away Wednesday morning, July 4, 2018. Bud was born on Aug. 11, 1938, in Winegar (Presque Isle), Wis., a son of Earl Victor and Elizabeth “Betty” (Andersen) Charles. He attended school in Presque Isle and Marenisco.
