    IRONWOOD - The Friends of the Miners Memorial Heritage Park announced the winners of the Art in the Park competition Saturday evening at Festival Ironwood. The outdoor exhibit includes 12 art installations along the one-mile Aurora Loop of the Miners Trail. The competition was judged by the public who walked the trail since the exhibit opened June 26.     HURLEY - Hurley School District teacher Dan Rye on Monday showed school board members how seventh and eighth grade students will better be prepared for high school technology classes. Rye said two new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics classes will be offered at the school.     ONTONAGON — Kathryn (Nipert) McDonald, 94, of Ontonagon, died peacefully at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital on Monday, July 21, 2014, after suffering a heart attack. She was born in Ontonagon on July 10, 1920, the daughter of Theron and Sue (Moran) Nipert. Kathryn was a graduate of Ontonagon High School in 1938 and attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, graduating in 1942. She later became the assistant supervisor of obstetrics at St. Joseph’s.
