(Ferratto) Jarvi Calabro, 90, of Green Bay, formerly a long-time resident of Wakefield, Mich., passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, July 28, 2018, at Woodside Manor in Green Bay, surrounded by her loving family. Mayme was born on May 18, 1928, in Wakefield, a daughter of John and Madeline (Bates) Ferratto. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1946.   • Iron County board approves borrowing $1.27 million for placement costs

This is the second year the board has decided to borrow money to fund the county’s costs for court-ordered placements — a move that allows the county to exceed the state-imposed levy limit and pass at least a portion of the burden onto the county’s taxpayers. Kurt was born March 12, 1966, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of John and Patricia (Spike) Talsma. He was baptized April 17, 1966, and confirmed May 18, 1980.     MERCER, Wis. — Lucille Brandt, 92, passed away on April 15, 2017. Lucille was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Hinsdale, Mont. She graduated from Mercer High School in 1943. She married Mark E. Brandt Jr. on April 29, 1945. Lucy and her husband, Mark, were partners with Darrell and Vera Brandt in Brandt’s Store until they retired in 1999. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Mercer Snow A Go Goers, Mercer Loons Motorcycle Club and the Mercer Lioness.
