    IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP — The Ironwood Township Board of Trustees approved naming Zoning Administrator Leroy Johnson as the township’s noxious weed officer at Monday’s meeting, pending Johnson’s acceptance of the position. Several board members brought up the logic in selecting Johnson for the position as there is likely a lot of overlap with his current responsibility of enforcing township regulations against blight. “Would (appointing Johnson) be a logical thing to do.     BESSEMER - With school starting Sept. 8, the Bessemer Area School District Board of Trustees approved several staff hirings and accepted other resignation letters Monday. With the board's approval, A.D. Johnston High School Principal Dan VanderVelden accepted the role of senior class advisor and high school student council advisor.     BOISE, Idaho — E. William Lindberg, 79, of Wells, Nev., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Boise, with his wife and three daughters at his side. Bill was born to E. William and Jenny Lindberg on May 27, 1936, in Ironwood, Mich., the youngest of six children. Following his 1954 graduation from Luther L. Wright High School, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1954-58 aboard two destroyers, the USS Collett and the USS Walke.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Charlotte W. Wolfe, 85, of Bergland, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield. She was born May 10, 1930, in Ripon, Wis., to the late William and Rozella (Smick) Theil. On July 17, 1948, Charlotte was united in marriage to the late Louis “Shorty” Wolfe in Green Bay, Wis.
