    IRONWOOD - The Gogebic County Fair drew crowds Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday's sunny skies offsetting Saturday's showers. "We've got a good fair.     LAKE GOGEBIC, Mich. - Laverne J. "Pete" Bailey, 86, a long-time resident of Lake Gogebic, passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 26, 2016. Laverne was born on Nov. 28, 1929, in Dexter, son of the late George Herman Bailey and Geraldine (Ward) Thurston. He attended Roosevelt High School in Dexter and graduated in 1948.     PORCUPINE MOUNTAINS - The strum of guitar strings and stomps of bass drums rang through the Porkies this weekend as hundreds sat on blankets, in fold-up chairs or beneath tents to listen to a number of bands from around the country perform as part of the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival.
