    SAXON, Wis. - The Saxon Community Center filled Saturday as community members gathered to play Bingo, enter the bag raffle, eat homemade food and take part in the St. Ann Fall Festival in Saxon. For more than 80 years community members have gathered in support of the St. Ann Service Club which donates all the funds raised to area charitable organizations, programs and residents in need.   • Last games of Range Striker season greeted by warm weather

    IRONWOOD – The Range Striker Soccer Club played its last games of the season Saturday at Airport Park in Ironwood. The weather cooperated and moments of sunshine warmed up the parents and coaches lining the field. "It's much warmer than last year, " Brenda Agee, regional commissioner, said.     BESSEMER – For the Gogebic Miners, this one really hurts. When Paul Buerger went off tackle, kicked it outside and scored from the six-yard line with the conversion added, the Miners went up 20-12 with 9:56 left in the game. But Lake Linden is a tough team to crack and the Lakes rallied to score two touchdowns and pull out a 28-20 conference victory at Massie Field in a rare Saturday night game. Gogebic swept UW Barron County 25-13, 25-7 and 25-18 but fell to Dakota County Technical College 25-20, 25-21 and 25-21. DCTC defeated both teams in three straight sets.
