    KIMBALL, Wis. - The parking area was packed, but the dancers were slow to take the floor at Little Finland's Fall Harvest dance Sunday afternoon. Priscilla Stephani and Ginger Benninghoff, two friends who said they have known each other for 60 years, were the first people on the dance floor.   • Bessemer City Council to hold hearing on ATV trail group

    BESSEMER — The Bessemer city council will hold a public hearing on the special use request by the Gogebic Range Trail Authority this evening at 5:30 at city hall. The GRTA is requesting approval as sponsors for off-road vehicle use of the trail. It already is the designated sponsor for the same trail for snowmobiles. The GRTA says the people living beside the trail in Bessemer are already accustomed to the sound of snowmobile traffic on the trail and the trail has been an unofficial ORV trail for many years.     IRONWOOD, Mich. - Joan M. Strand, 84, a long-time resident of Ironwood Township, passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born on May 30, 1933, in Cook County, Ill., daughter of the late Hugh and Pearl (Olson) Heenen. She grew up in Manitowish Waters, Wis.
