  • Commission candidates sound off this week

    IRONWOOD — Ironwood residents will be hearing from city commission candidates quite a bit this week. All 11 candidates for Ironwood City Commission in the Nov. 3 election are expected to participate in a Tuesday candidates’ forum at Gogebic Community College. The forum will be at 7 p.m. in the upper level conference room at the Lindquist Center. The top five vote-getters will be seated on the commission. The highest vote-getter is elected mayor.     WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Lois Jean (Bailey) Dalbeck, 66, of Wakefield, formerly a longtime resident of Thomaston, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2015. Lois was born on Jan. 19, 1949, in Crandon, Wis., a daughter of Alvin and Joyce Geraldine (Sheldon) Bailey. She attended school in Idaho. On May 1, 1964, Lois was united in marriage to Gary Armedas Dalbeck in Ceour d'Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Thomaston and were blessed with three children.
