Pope received 4,128 votes in Gogebic County and 1,883 votes in Ontonagon County for a total of 6,011 votes. Pope’s challenger, Mark McDonald, received 2,187 votes in Gogebic County and 818 votes in Ontonagon County for a total of 3,005 votes. Pope was appointed by Gov.
