  • Hiawatha restoration fundraising effort begins

Peter Sturgul and John Rudberg, both of Ironwood, formed the group with the goal of raising $25,000. The Ironwood Chamber of Commerce, with its existing Hiawatha capital account, would continue to serve as the repository for all donations.   • Jack Frost organizers prepare for Friday parade

Friday's parade will begin at 6 p.m. sharp in front of the Ironwood Carnegie Library.     By RALPH ANSAMI [email protected] IRONWOOD — A dreaded “wintry mix” was predicted today by the National Weather Service for Ironwood, with up to three inches of snow and ice possible. There was an 80 percent chance of precipitation today, with a high of 34 forecast. Snow was also possible for Wednesday.     DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Chester L. Baker Jr., 86, of Douglasville, formerly of Wakefield, Mich., passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015. He was born April 24, 1929, in Winegar, Wis.
