City council members on Monday approved the appointment of Sue Ahonen as new city clerk and that, in turn, left empty her former position as a part-time utility clerk. HURLEY — An Ironwood woman who failed to report to the Iron County Jail to serve a sentence received an additional six-month sentence this week. Kristen Samierad, 29, entered a no contest plea to the misdemeanor charge and was found guilty by Iron County Judge Patrick Madden, according to court records.
