    HURLEY - A spectacular 4:50 p.m. Thursday blaze destroyed a Hurley Silver Street supper club and resulted in heavy smoke that could be smelled as far away as the Kmart store off U.S. 2 in Ironwood. Hurley firefighters battled the thick, black smoke at Wishbones restaurant that caused the closure of traffic on Silver Street.     SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Thelma Agnes Demaray, 96, of Sault Ste. Marie, formerly of Bergland, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born Aug. 6, 1917, in McMillan, to Frank and Belle (Borton) Bailey. Thelma moved to Bergland as a young child, grew up there and was a 1937 graduate of Bergland High School.     FRUITLAND TOWNSHIP (AP) - Cold, snowy weather continuing to grip Michigan is being blamed for a 40-vehicle pileup on a western Michigan expressway, injuring a sheriff's deputy. The Muskegon County sheriff's department said the chain-reaction crash happened Thursday morning on U.S. 31 in Fruitland Township, north of Detroit.
