HURLEY -- Although the nation faces a challenged economy, Iron County had only one more foreclosure action in 2008 than in 2007.

In 2008, a total of 26 foreclosure actions for Iron County were filed in the Northwest Regional Planning Commission Region Circuit Courts. That was one more than the previous year, when 25 foreclosure actions were filed.

Iron County Board of Supervisors chairman Dennis DeRosso said Iron County's good report may result in state officials determining that Iron County doesn't need a stimulus payment.
