MADISON, Wis. -- Even though Wisconsin faces a $600 million budget shortfall, grant funds for Iron County continue to roll in. Iron County's recycling program was awarded a $117,277 grant on Thursday.
"We determined your grant amount based on the percentage of the award that your organization received in 1999," Division of Air and Waste Management Administrator Al Shea said in his notification to the county.
Iron County Recycling Coordinator Lori Prenderville, who wrote the grant, said Iron County received $106,307 in 1999.
