SAXON, Wis. -- The Iron County Fair in Saxon keeps people coming back by offering new events every year.
This year's fair, which opens Thursday and runs through Sunday, will be no exception, as the popular horse-pulling contest on Sunday will be preceded by a Meyer's 10-Horse Pyramid Hitch.
"The horses are hitched to a wagon and it's a show performance event, not a horse-pulling competition," said fair board member Mary Smith. The horses will be set up in a formation like bowling pins, with four to the back, then three ahead, two in the second row and a lead horse.
