Northern Wisconsin conservation wardens this weekend will step up enforcement of laws designed to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species such as Eurasian Water Milfoil and zebra mussels.
This weekend, more "water wardens" will be on patrol in the north, including Vilas and Iron counties.
Iron County Department of Natural Resources warden John Windt said the water wardens have been issuing citations throughout the summer, while also emphasizing education about exotic species to boaters.
