PORT WING, Wis. -- The Hurley Midgettes cruised past the South Shore Cardinals 85-37 Thursday to remain perfect on the season.
Hurley (13-0, 10-0 Indianhead Conference) exploded in the first quarter to lead the Cardinals 25-2 and led 41-8 at halftime.
Brittany Czerneski led the Midgettes with 19 points. Jeanna Aijala scored 14 points and Ale Kohegyi added 12. Taylor Ogren scored 19 points to lead South Shore.
Solon Springs 42, Mercer 24
MERCER, Wis. -- The Tigers fell behind the Eagles in the second quarter and were never able to recover.
The game was tied 10-10 at the end of the first quarter before Solon Springs held Mercer (4-9, 3-8 Indianhead Conference) to just three points in the second period to take a 23-13 edge at halftime.
Rachel Hanley scored a game-high 20 points for the Eagles. Chaunte Hendrickson led the Tigers with eight points.
