GREEN BAY, Wis. - Gerald "Mergy" Alessandroni, 72, formerly of Ironwood, Michigan, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Oct. 4, 2023, in Green Bay, after battling ALS and Cancer. Gerald was born Oct. 31, 1950, to parents Gildo and Beatrice "Pinky" (Eliason) Alessandroni in Ironwood, Michigan. He attended Saint Ambrose and Luther L. Wright schools. WATERSMEET, Mich. — David Trzecinski, 79, of Watersmeet passed away at his home on Oct. 4, 2023. He was born on April 7, 1944, in Bergland, to the late Henry and Olive (Brownell) Trzecinski. HURLEY, Wis. - Donald Traczyk, 86, of Hurley, passed away on Aug. 24, 2023, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital after a three-year battle with three types of cancer. WHITE PINE — Highland Copper Company and Kinterra Capital Corp. officials visited the site of a planned White Pine North mining project on Aug. 17. The visit was “a significant step forward” in developing the copper mining project, according a release from Highland, adding officials are working to obtain the required state permits.
