Helen A. Kaltenbach

IRONWOOD, Mich. — Helen A. Kaltenbach, 88, of Ironwood, formerly of Crystal Lake, Ill., died Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Ironwood.

Helen was born Dec. 26, 1924, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Helen (Devine) Koester.

She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, William Chandler Post 171, in Crystal Lake. She was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake.

She married George W. Kaltenbach on Aug. 3, 1946. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2008.

Helen is survived by two sons, Douglas (Kathy), of St. Germain, Wis., and David (Chantel), of Crystal Lake; three daughters, Juanita (Jim) Oliver, of Ironwood, Susan (Bruce) Kalm, of Ironwood, and Lisa (Wade) Cook, of Crystal Lake; a sister, Polly (Charles) Sproatt, of Haines City, Fla .; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Anita Bielawski.

Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley, Wis.

Inurnment will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township in July.

Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at Westgate for its compassionate care giving to her over the years.

Arrangements are by Range Funeral Services and Crematory, Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home of Bessemer, Mich.
