Ronald Emilio Morello

HOWELL CLUB LAKE, Texas — Ronald Emilio Morello passed away on April 4, 2013, after enjoying his retirement on a private lake in east Texas.

Ron was the first born child to Emilio and Dorothy (Morgando) Morello on March 5, 1943. He attended Hurley public schools in Montreal and Hurley, Wis., graduating with the class of 1961. While in high school, Ron worked as a pin setter at the Hamilton Club. He was then employed in Milwaukee and Beloit, Wis.

He married LaVerne Hamberg in 1963 and the couple moved back to Iron County in 1965, where they raised their two children, Ralph, of Denver, and Renee, of Grapevine. Both children survive, along with their spouses, Anne Morello and Tim Marron.

Also surviving are: grandchildren, Paul and Steve Marron; a brother, David (Bertha); a sister, Karen Lowe (Bill); a nephew, David J. Morello (Pam); and numerous cousins.

Ron was active in the Hurley Area Little League and was instrumental in starting the Hurley Babe Ruth Baseball program.

After his children went off to college, Ron left Iron County and worked as a teacher at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution and then the Madison Area Technical College. He retired in 2008 to his lakefront home in east Texas and spent his time fishing and doing yard work.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and his ashes will remain at the family property on Howell Club Lake.
