Don Berger and his grandchildren, Henry and Lannea Shackleford, all of Ironwood, walk down Lowell Street Saturday as they take part in Make a Difference Day, an effort by city officials to get the public out to help clean up streets and other areas in the city.
IRONWOOD — Saturday morning volunteers gathered at Ironwood’s Depot Park to pick up litter from city streets as part of Make a Difference Day.
About 20 people came, said city manager Scott Erickson.
After meeting at the Depot, volunteers spread out on their routes, armed with trash bags.
“It’s a good opportunity for kids,” said Erickson.
After their work, the volunteers were treated to a cookout at the Depot Park.
