MERCER, Wis. — Dolores F. Spittler, 87, of Black Lake Road, Mercer, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in her home.

The former Dolores Urman was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Chicago, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Coleman) Urman, and attended Queen of Angels Catholic School in Chicago and St. Patrick’s Academy in Momence, Ill. She retired as a bookkeeper from the Chicago Public School system.

On May 25, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles J. “C.J” Spittler at Queen of Angels Church in Chicago. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2012.

Dolores was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Mercer, the Mercer Historical Society and the Lake of the Falls Lake Association. Her hobbies included stained glass, refinishing furniture, crocheting and creating a village at the Historical Society.

Surviving are a son, Chuck (Pat), Chicago; and two grandchildren, Jeremy and Julie Spittler, of Chicago.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Jerry; and brother, Frank Urman.

Per Dolores’ wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Mercer, with the Rev. Lourdu Mandapati, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will be in the Mercer Cemetery.

Luncheon will follow at the Pine Tree Hideaway on Popko Circle.
