IRONWOOD — Andy and Halley Borseth shot nine-under-par 62 to win the 19th annual Gogebic Community College Basketball Golf Classic two-person scramble held Saturday at the Gogebic Country Club.

Eight-two golfers participated in men’s, women’s and mixed divisions. The Borseth duo captured the mixed division title, while Jim Milakovich and Joe Matrella shot 67 to win the men’s division, and Nancy Dalpiaz and Nancy Levra captured the women’s division with a 78.

“We were fortunate to have decent weather for our event. We had a nice turnout of golfers which allowed us to have five different flight winners,” said men’s basketball coach and athletic director Dennis Mackey.

“This is a major fundraising event for our men’s and women’s basketball program. Coach Stephanie Justinak and I extend a grateful thank you to the businesses and individuals who sponsored holes and donated prizes, the volunteer workers, and the golfers who helped make this another fun and successful day at the golf course,” Mackey said.
