Ronald 'Ron' 'Chum' James Raygo

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Ronald “Ron” “Chum” James Raygo, 78, of Omro, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.

He was born Dec. 24, 1934, in McCallister, to Ronald F. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Murphy) Raygo.

On Nov. 16, 1963, Ron married Connie Fredrickson in Marinette. Through the years, he had worked for American Motors Corp., Fox Valley Dodge in Oshkosh, Mueller Chrysler Plymouth in Oshkosh, was the owner of Budget Auto Sales in Oshkosh and Omro Auto Sales, and until his retirement, Ron scrapped iron. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, playing cards and watching and going to stock car races.

Ron is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie Raygo, of Omro; three children, Debra (Richard) Jungman, of Lavern, Tenn., Leonard Raygo, of Omro, and Larry (Amy) Raygo, of Omro; five grandchildren, Joe (Leslie) Reinke, of Larsen, Kim (Andy) Sturm, of Larsen, Amber (Ben) Rennert, of Oshkosh, Brittini Raygo, of Omro, and Connor Raygo, of Omro; two great-grandchildren, Carley and Paul Reinke; two sisters, Louise LeRoy and Pearl Pichette, both of Marinette; two sisters-in-law, Pat Neau and Nancy McKinzie; his hunting buddy, Jim Landreth; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Ron in death were one daughter, Cindy Raygo; his parents; four brothers-in-law, Larry “Boozie” Fronsee, Darryl LeRoy, Frank Pichette and Cliff Neau; a sister-in-law, Geri Elliott; a niece, Tina Fronsee; two nephews, Richard Pichette and David Pichette; and a great-niece, Heather Mezzano.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, July 8, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St., Winneconne, with a funeral service to be held at 4:30 p.m.

Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in the Winneconne Cemetery at a later date.

Ron’s family wishes to thank the staffs of Omro Care Center and DaVita Dialysis at Aurora Medical Center, the Omro First Responders, and a special thank you to Dr. Conconnan, ER doctor at Mercy Medical Center, who was so kind and thoughtful.
