Security guards at mine site for reason

To the Editor:

I am responding to the press release that Wisconsin state Sen. Robert Jauch, D-Poplar, and state Rep. Janet Bewley, D-Ashland, sent to Gogebic Taconite requesting the removal of the security that they hired to protect their employees and equipment.

Let’s not forget that the eco-terrorists donned masks and destroyed valuable equipment and threatened workers with death. This reaches the level of terrorism in my judgment, regardless of how much in the way of public relations damage control environmental groups employ.

Employees must feel safe on their jobs.

Jauch and Bewley need to stand for all citizens of the Northland and not just the eco-terrorists and environmental activist protestors that they have befriended over the past few years.

While many of us here in the Northland are trying to feed, clothe and put a roof over our families’ heads, they continue to stand in the way of our jobs that will allow our families to stay together and prosper.

Jauch and Bewley, you would perform a greater service to all of your constituents whom you were elected to serve if you would ask the protestors to stop their nonsense, tell the eco-terrorists to remove their masks and all should return to their homes so the mining company can do their best to bring great jobs to the citizens of the Northland.

Many of these protestors are not from the great Northland and their only intent is to stop the mine and stand in the way of progress for the citizens of the Northland.
