CRYSTAL FALLS — Forest Park girls basketball star Lexi Gussert verbally committed Thursday to play for the Michigan State Spartans in the 2014-15 season.
Gussert, who will be a senior at Forest Park this fall, had also drawn recruiting interest from such basketball powerhouses as Connecticut and Tennessee.
“Proud and blessed to say I will be a Michigan State Spartan next year! Thanks to everyone who has recruited me, and everyone for the support,” Gussert tweeted.
The 6-foot Gussert was Michigan’s Class D Player of the Year last season. She averaged 32 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, four steals and four blocks for the Lady Trojans. She is also a two-time All-State selection.
