Ronald 'Frosty' Freese

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Ronald “Frosty” Freese, 65, of Ironwood, died Friday, July 26, 2013, in Marquette.

He was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Chicago, son of the late Harry and Myrtle (Sutherland) Freese. Ronald attended Westland, Mich., schools and was employed in Milwaukee, where he was a bus driver for the handicapped. Locally, he was employed at the Grand View Hospital in environmental services until retirement.

He was a Green Bay Packers fan. He was also an Elvis Presley fan. Ronald enjoyed fishing and going to the Midway Bar in Ironwood for his morning coffee. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

On June 3, 1972, he was married to the former Betty Wesa. She survives.

On Oct. 7, 1989, he was married to the former Wendy Jones. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2010.

He is also survived by a son, Richard (Alysia) Freese, of Ironwood; a daughter, Nicole (Scott Carlson) Freese, of Ironwood; and five grandchildren, Trevor, Anders, Markus, Ian and Cody. A sister, Wanda (Bob) Ollanketo, of Hancock, survives. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Freese.

Funeral services will be held at the Ketola-Burla Funeral Home, 635 E. Ayer St., Ironwood, on Wednesday, July 31, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jean B. Rencontre will officiate.

Ronald’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Cremation will follow at the Range Crematory in Hurley, Wis.

Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

Range Funeral Service and Crematory and the Ketola-Burla Funeral Home of Ironwood is in charge of arrangements.
