Frank Wallace St Vincent Jr.

WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Frank Wallace St Vincent Jr., 81, of Wakefield, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1932, in Marinette, Wis., the son of Frank and Martha (Mayville) St Vincent. Frank graduated from Marinette High School.

On Nov. 17, 1951, he married Violet Helen Treptow in Menominee.

From 1952 to 1954, Frank served in the U.S. Army as a private and was assigned to the military police corps.

During his lifetime, he was a self-taught auto mechanic. Frank owned and operated gas stations in Marinette and Ramsay. For more than 40 years, he and his sons ran Frank St Vincent & Sons Auto Repair Shop in Ramsay. Frank was well known in the community for being the go-to man for any automotive problems.

Frank was also employed at White Pine Copper Range for 20 years and retired in 1993.

His passion for cars continued and he branched out into laying ceramic tile. After his third stint, Frank retired from that skilled trade.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Violet; four sons, Michael, Portland, Ore., Kevin (Elaine), Bessemer, Bradly Sr. (Judi), Dalton, Wis., and Gerald (Vickie), Moses Lake, Wash .; a daughter, Susan (Rick) Wainio, Wakefield; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Timothy St Vincent; and a sister, Janet Kovar.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ironwood, where he was a member for more than 20 years. Elder Don Lothes will officiate.
