IRONWOOD, Mich. — Julia Elgeness, 97, formerly of Ramsay, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, in Ironwood.
She was born March 23, 1916, in Ramsay, daughter of the late Michael and Rosa (Ujsasi) Pinter.
She was married to Alf Elgeness. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1957.
Julia is survived by two nieces, Janet Tusa and Janice Butkze, of Minnesota; a nephew, Edward Jiongo, of Texas; and special friends, Norman (Bonnie) Hongisto, of Wakefield.
Besides her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by a son, Michael Elgeness; three brothers, Joseph, Steve and Louis Pinter; and two sisters, Rose Jiongo and Leona Pairolero.
Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley.
Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer.
Private graveside committal services will be held.
Range Funeral Service and Crematory and the Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home of Bessemer and Hurley, Wis., have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
