David John Guzzo


RACINE, Wis. — David John Guzzo, 69, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints.

David was born in Ramsay, Mich., on Feb. 15, 1944, the son of the late, James and Mayme (Gugliemotto) Guzzo. After graduation from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, Mich., he continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he received his master’s degree in education in 1970. He retired from Gateway Technical College. After retirement, David spent 12 years teaching veterans with the Upward Bound Program at the Veteran’s Center in Union Grove.

David was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Parish. He enjoyed traveling, swimming and the outdoors.

Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Richard (MaryLou) Guzzo, of Bessemer; longtime friend, Joseph Eibl, of Racine; three nephews, Jeff Guzzo, of Grafton, N.D., Michael (Shannon) Guzzo, of Omro, and Kevin (Heidi) Guzzo, of St. Joseph, Mich .; and niece, Margaret (Mike) Karpus, of Greenville, Mich. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass was held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Parish on Monday, Aug. 26.
